[Testing - Trixie] Version 2024-12-03 cant find a kernel to install

Today I tried the most recent netinstall testing (2024-12-03) but each time I tried to install my system with it the installer I stumbled over the problem that it couldn't find a installable kernel on my USB stick. It offered me to continue without a kernel and add it later by hand, but I assume this is not the intention of the installer. I didn't use the graphical installer and went for the expert routine using the whole disk with LVM and LUKS because I wanted to configure en-uk with a German keyboard layout. Unfortunately the problem only occurs after the disk is deleted (and overwritten with random data by LUKS). This means I need to wait for over an hour to find out if I will encounter the problem with different options.

The torrent version for the netinstall testing release from June worked fine and so did the most recent netinstall stable live system with Xfce, which I used for the system running on my device right now. But I would like to use testing with GNOME since I aim to learn creating UIs with gtkmm 4.16 instead of 4.8. And this version difference seems to be rather relevant. Unfortunately, Glade doesn't help with GTK4 and the upcoming Cambalache isn't ready yet. So I figured I should try to get competent in using gtkmm to not depend on a GUI tool, which isn't ready yet.

Do you have a recommendation on how I could overcome this hurdle without the need to add the kernel later by hand? I didn't try it but I suspect the graphical installer would stumble over the same issue. Is it possibly related to the LVM and LUKS options I used since they are probably less common than a installation without encrypted LVM?
