[Software] accessing airplay sink via raop with debian 12 stable

I'm running a small music media center on a raspberry pi using moode audio. For the purpose of watching films, I'd like to stream the audio to the moode rpi via raop (airplay protocol).
apparently this was already possible with pulseaudio, and should be so again with pipewire. On the debian pw wiki (https://wiki.debian.org/PipeWire) it looks like this option is currently only possible with debian testing though.
Is this correct, or is there any other way to achieve this when running current debian stable and without loading any packages from backports? I'd like to stick with pipewire as it works quite well for me with other audio related stuff.
Thanks for any ideas and input!

for context, a link to an older thread on a similar issue: viewtopic.php?t=155542
(on my system pactl command is also not recognized anymore)

ps: reason for using this approach instead of bluetooth (which works) is to hopefully achieve a better latency of <50ms
