Release upgrades and Flatpaks

After years of distro hoping I'm looking to settle down with one distro. I'm currently trying Debian 12 with KDE on an old-ish Dell desktop and strongly considering installing it on the laptop I use for all things computing.

With Debian 13 on the horizon, my question relates to how flatpak applications are handled/affected when upgrading from one release to another. I've read that the sources list should be free of third parties, which mine is. Discover shows the Flathub repo which I would expect having installed the repo and the plugin. I've tried to stick to apps from the Debian repos but have installed Lutris and Heroic Games Launcher as flatpaks.

When the time comes to upgrade to 13 will these apps be OK to leave as is and continue to function post-upgrade? I don't wish to have to uninstall and then reinstall (would involve a fair number of games as well as the apps themselves.) It's the endless cycle of installing that has caused me to grow weary of changing distros.
